Fursuit Terms of Service

General

I reserve the right to refuse any commission or sale at any time for any reason.
I will only work with adults age 18 and up.
I reserve the right to share photos of completed fursuits made by me on my website and social media.
You may share my photos of your fursuit made by me on your social media. Credit given when posting these photos is appreciated, but not required.
I will require a well-made duct tape dummy for fullsuits to ensure the best fit. I am not responsible for fit issues resulting from an improperly made duct tape dummy. [dtd tutorial link here]

I will require a clear, safe-for-work reference sheet of your character to work from. This reference should have at least one unobstructed front view and at least one unobstructed back view of your character. Preferably, the reference sheet would be created digitally and without shading, but I will work with what you have.
If you do not have a reference, I am happy to make one for you at my standard rate.
Artistic liberty commissions will not require a reference sheet immediately. I will work with you to create a design you are happy with based on any direction or requests you give me. Artistic liberty commissions also include any of my adoptable fursuit designs - no additional reference is needed with these.
The character must belong to you. I will not create a fursuit made after copywrited or licensed material (ex. Pokemon, Digimon, Disney, etc)
AI generated references are not acceptable.

Quotes are available to those seriously considering purchasing a fursuit, but it is a good idea to look at the price page to get an idea of what you can expect. Complex designs may have a higher cost, and material costs can vary greatly from project to project.
All prices are in USD.
Payment is accepted through Paypal or Square invoicing at this time. Payment plans are only available via Paypal. Cash can be accepted in person at a convention or within a 40 mile radius of Nashville, TN. Mailed cash is not acceptable. Cryptocurrency is not acceptable.
Payment Plan: I will send an invoice that allows partial payments, and you may pay on it any amount at any time as you are able. Materials are ordered once enough is paid to do so. If there are no payments made for twelve months without prior discussion, and contact cannot be established in those twelve months, a refund will be attempted and you may also be blacklisted from future commissions. It is important to be communicative if you fall on hard times and need extra time to make a payment.
Work begins once the project is fully paid off unless otherwise agreed upon.

Turnaround time will be discussed with each client. Fursuits are unique, and something with a lot of details may take longer!
I cannot guarantee deadlines, however, I will do my best to meet them.
I do not accept "rush fees" as I prefer to remain focused on quality and durability.
As a growing artist, I am continuously refining my techniques and improving my craftsmanship. Small variations in style and completion times may occur as I develop new methods, but quality and durability are always my priority.

Major character design changes are acceptable as long as I am notified before any fur gets cut! Minor changes that do not require new materials can sometimes be made at any point during the building process, just let me know as soon as possible! If new materials are required, they will be billed to the client.
You are involved every step of the way! From materials selections to finer details, I will work closely with you and ask for input throughout the project. You can expect several WIP photos during construction!
Fur samples can be mailed when necessary!

If I cancel your commission, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel your commission, you will recieve a full refund if no materials have been ordered and no work has been started. If materials have been ordered and work has been started, you will recieve a 50% refund of the total price paid plus materials then mailed to you.

Domestic shipping cost responsibility will fall on the buyer. I have access to cheaper shipping rates, so we will decide together which shipping method works best for you.
International shipping is available. Buyer is responsible for any customs fees, but I will split the main shipping costs (outside of customs) with the buyer.
Convention delivery is available and does not incur any extra cost.
In-person delivery, away from conventions, is available within a 40 mile radius of Nashville, TN at no extra cost.

One year warranty: Any popped seams, fitting issues, adhesive failures, and other construction problems can be fixed for free within the first year of you receiving your fursuit. Shipping costs within the warranty window are split between the client and Chevypepper. If you want to make the repair yourself, I am happy to offer advice and instruction on how to do so! Unauthorized alterations void this warranty, so please contact me before making alterations if this is of concern to you!
Improper care or abuse voids the one-year warranty. [clarify what improper care and abuse is]
Repairs, edits, and refurbishments are done on a case-by-case basis.
I may refuse a repair if I feel you have intentionally damaged your fursuit.
Updates and Refurbs: As I make improvements to my work over time, older pieces may be eligible for refurbs or update to meet my current standards at a reduced rate. This is discussed on a case-by-case basis.

I operate out of a home with a dog. All fursuit products are vacuumed and washed before being sent out. However, please do let me know if you have an allergy, so I can dedicate extra time to ensuring your safety!
This is a 100% smoke-free environment.

Buyers may resell their fursuits at any time! Informing me of ownership transfer is appreciated, but not required.
One-year warranty does not transfer to the new owner when the fursuit is resold.

I will not work with anyone affiliated with a hate group (ex. Furry Raiders, Nazis, racists, etc). No exceptions. If I find out that you belong to a hate group, your commission will be refunded in full and you will be blacklisted.
I will not give a costume any features that fall under cultural appropriation.
